About Us
Buzz Liberia is the brainchild of Prince Sargbah, a Liberian web programmer, currently residing in California, USA. This community portal was created and launched on April 30, 2010 to reach out to Liberians worldwide in the hope of strengthening the bond of unity among Liberians as our dear Mama Liberia is going through a period of recovery. We also wish to bring to the fore our rich unique arts and culture, and strive to promote our economy, starting with our rising local artists. Through your overwhelming support, in less than three weeks after Buzz Liberia was launched, we were notified that our portal has become the largest Liberian online community. While this was a great milestone in so short a time we believe that “sky is the limit” to what we Liberians can achieve. We invite and gratefully welcome your ideas, suggestions and any other help as we continue to make Buzz Liberia an amazing undertaking we can all be proud of. This portal is divided into several sections including an online community, News, Sports, Business, Entertainments, Weather, Classifieds, etc.
History
BuzzLiberia was first launched in 2008 as Enfoplus Net. Following series of acknowledgements and technical evaluation, it was later decided to carry the name BuzzLiberia. The reason was that Enfoplus Net didn't suitible represented the aim and objectives of the website. We wanted to tell the world that we had a new way to browse Liberia online. So we started thinking about a word we could use along with the name Liberia that would give people the impression of what this website was made of so we finally considered the word Buzz because of it meaning. The word Buzz is a modern word mostly used on the internet. It is most of the time used with an exclamation mark (!) either to get one attention or to show a very strong scene of what that particular thing is about. Another definition of the word Buzz is to make a vibrating, humming, or droning sound. So we thought BuzzLiberia would express a more extreme feeling of a new Liberia on the internet.
Aims and Objectives
Our aims and objectives is to mainly promote Liberians arts and cultures on the internet after a decade of the bloodly civil war that kept us behind in modern technologies. We have no bounderies, we don't intend to compete with other Liberian medias but to contribute skills, experience and ideas we have acquired over the years.
Our Abilities
With the brilliant mind behind this network, we are capible of bringing a much advance features the web has to offer. All we hope for is the courage from users. The more we see how people find this site interesting, the more we will be encourage to bring more to this site.
We kindly ask for public help to enable us carry out these duties. Whatever anyone would like to contribute/donate is highly appreciated. Moreover, we encourage companies waiting to get involve to some of our interesting programs including Sponsoring the different sections of our site, purchasing an advertising space or donating to our projects.
Finances obtained from these programs would help us extend our programs to so many different things like setting up our office in Liberia and other Liberian community around the world, purchasing equipments, sponsoring artists and so much more.
